Boost your budget - and do staff a favour

    If your budget could do with a 20% boost for a month AND enhance your staff's pensions would you do it?

    I've done the maths and have realised that any teacher who has been on the same pay scale for 10 years and who has moved from the final salary to career average pension scheme would almost certainly benefit from opting out of the pension scheme for a month.

    Alerting your staff to check this for themselves could mean that they opt out for a month and one side-effect of this is that your budget will benefit from not having to pay the 23.6% employer contribution as well.
