  1. There are lots. How about
    The Lorax by Dr Suess
Where the Forest Meets the Sea by Jeannie Baker
    Window by Jeannie Baker
George Saves the World by Lunchtime by Jo Readman

  2. Frog Belly Rat Bone? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Story-Frog-Belly-Rat-Bone/dp/0744580560 It is an amazing picture book, though the illustrations arn't to everyone's taste. The Tin Forest by Helen Ward is another beautiful picture book along similar lines http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tin-Forest-Helen-Ward/dp/1840117435/ref=pd_sim_b_2

  3. Have your tried "The Lorax" by Dr Seuss?
It's a brilliant book about a creature who uses up all the resources in an area and pollutes the water so that all the animals leave/die, and how the area becomes derelict after. It has the amazing quote of "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to change, it's not" at the end. My year 2 class love the book.#
Also, "Where the Forest Meets the sea" by Jeannie ........ (sorry, can't remeber the last name!)
It's a lovely story based in an Australian rainforest. A boy talks about how the forest used to be, and at the end asks the question about how much longer the forest will be there for. This is a fab one for visual literacy because the illustrations are collaged, and have 'ghosts' in the images showing what the boy imagines. It's hard to describe, but well worth a look!
