Book group for upper KS1/lower KS2?

Discussion in 'Book club' started by Rachel25, Apr 27, 2009.

  1. Hi there.
I wondered if anyone has experience of setting up a reading group for upper KS1 or lower KS2? I am thinking of doing this but have no idea where to start, what to read, how much and how often, to go at the same pace or our own pace, book titles to read, how to get enough copies, etc, etc!
Any personal experience would be greatly appreciated as would any online resources.
    Many thanks in anticipation!

  2. Top 15/60 year 2's have had a weekly dinner time reading group, reading charlie and the chocolate factory, 1 chapter at school and 1 chapter at home. I was just searching for book recommendations, as many stories are too mature for 6/7 yr old 3B-4B readers. We also purchased 16 copies of George's Marvelous Medicine. Both from Just books, with a good 'local school' discount!
