Can anyone suggest a book that they have tried with the whole school to carry out a writing project involving different genres suitable to inspire all ages?

I have used Tuesday by David Wiesner. It is a picture book (there is a DVD animation of the book too) but was loved from year 1 -6. You can get so much out of it!

Look at Alan Peat's 50 ways to re-tell Cinderella.
I am using it with Year 6. Teachers will get inspiration to adapt for their Year group.

Anthony Browne's Voices in the Park - or you could think about any other Anthony Browne book. Lots of inspiration there.
