Can I have your opinions on big maths please? One of our feeder primaries has just bought in and my feeling is that it is teaching memorisation rather than understanding, can anyone help me see the positives?

Hello 2 positives that I see in memorization is 1) mind muscles activate more compared to a lot of people that are dependent on technology to give them the answers and even think for them. 2) Once memorization is in place, then it will be a lot faster to do things without cell phone or paper. In math there are certain areas like multiplication where it is best to memorize them and this can be made engaging by playing math games.
