It's been three days since I kept down any solid food and I finally feel I could perhaps eat something. The thought of toast or rice is still too much but I'm starting to have gentle hunger pangs. Any advice?

I would imagine so. I hadn't thought to weigh myself.

I love tomato soup when I've been unwell, with a little bread to dip in and make soggy.

I was gien porridge when recovering form typhoid more than forty years ago. It still gives me terrible indigestion, so I'd not recommend it!

    What do you actually fancy?

Toast would usually be my first choice, but you've said you're not up to that.

Nibble on an arrowroot or ginger biscuit or perhaps a bread stick?

I grew up abroad and parents would give their kids rice water - literally the water youd boiled rice in, supposedly the starch helped 'bind'.

I wasn't sure but reading this list has helped - might try some boiled egg mashed up with butter and salt.

Jelly, mashed banana on toast. Whatever you have I hope you feel better soon.

Whenever I was poorly, the standard invalid food was chopped egg in a cup.
