    Hi Everyone,
I work in a very small school where our Maths resources are really old or non-existent.
Recently we have been told we can spend some money on buying maths resources for our classroom so I was wondering whether people could let me know what they find most useful in their classroom. Obviously I have lots of ideas but it's good to know what everyone else uses the most. I have a mixed yr 1/2 with some very high ability yr 2s (working on yr3/4 work) and some yr 1s who are very behind.
    Thanks in advance

These are my must have resources:
    • lots of 'nice things' for counting
    • base 10/Dienes
    • Numicon
    • place value arrow cards
    • digit cards
    • bead strings (10, 20 and 100)
    • bundles of straws
    • range of dice
    • dominoes
    • coins
    • sorting hoops
    • 2d and 3d shapes
    • geo strips
    • pegs & peg boards
    • multi link
    • range of number lines
    • 10 frames
    • arithmetic rack
    • maths games
    well, that's start!

    Thank you,
Most of it I had on my list - it's good to know other people are using similar things.
I haven't come across or used geo strips before though.
Can you tell me a bit more about them, what you use them for etc?
