    Hi all,

I have a friend who is American and wants to become a qualified teacher. He has worked in teaching for a while, but is thinking of pursuing a PGCE or equivalent qualification. Does anybody know the best way to go about this as a non-EU student, or about a PGCE equivalent that is accepted in international schools but is less costly?

Or.. do any of you have any ideas where he can get advice from?

    Thanks!

He/you can try posting on the Teaching Overseas forum.

As for getting the PGCE (which is generally valued overseas), he would need to apply and pay full whack fees from a University. However, if he is fully qualified in the US, he can get QTS very easily.

    Best wishes
