We are looking to invest in new dictionaries. Most seem very simple and will not help with enriching vocabulary.
Does anyone have any recommendations especially for brighter kids?

The Oxford English Dictionary for Schools seems to cover all abilities. Clear definitions (with some examples/usage) without shying away from the trickier words.

Maybe you have no choice but to buy paper dictionaries but I think a digital dictionary is better as it is always up-to-date. I have had dictionaries on my classroom shelves for years and students never look at them unless directed to.
