being told to come in on results day

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by wheniam64, May 19, 2011.

  1. Hi, I am a year 12 form tutor in an 11 - 18 school. I have just been told that I am expected to be in on results day on 18th august. Does anyone know if I would be contractually obliged to be in school? My partner is also a teacher, and we are in a fortunate position of usually spending 4 or 5 weeks travelling most summers, so it is highly unlikely that I would be around on results day. Any advice would be great. Thanks
I am not a HOD or hold any extra responsibilities if that makes a difference.
