Been offered a job, which level of the payscale could I get?

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by jsalinas, Feb 15, 2011.

  1. Hi, I have been offered a job in a school in the fringe area.
I am currently completing the second placement of my PGCE in secondary Maths. My profile is:
    BSc and MSc in Economics
    Qualified Independent Financial Advisor
    Spanish as mother tongue.
Very IT literate (I can program in VBA and HTML)

So the question is, in the M1 to M6 scale, what should I ask for?
  2. Unless your job specifically requires the things you have put above as additional to general classroom teacher then you would be mainscale 1 or possibly 2.
  3. If I have read this correctly, and you are currently completing your PGCE, then you will be an NQT when you begin your job so you will be paid M1. All of your other qualifications and experience wont really matter to the school. I cant see the school paying you any more than another NQT in the school because of your other skills.
  4. BTW Why have you posted this question in the Early Years forum?
