Bankers thrown in Jail

    The icelandic approach was simple. They haven't paid their creditors, have much higher inflation, negative equity on property and like 18% of tax goes in debt interest. The banks went bust and the government took the debt by bailing out the central bank as would have happened here. They also had a 50% currency devaluation. Fancy some of that?

    They seem to be doing okay. The people that is. The bankers not so much, which is how it should be.

    I expect they will be happy that those who bankrupted the country are being made to pay for that. instead of being given more money. I think you call that justice.

    You don't see too many stories like this on British news however. Can't have the natives getting restless.

    In Ireland, three bankers have been convicted of financial irregularities and given custodial sentences. A bigger alleged crook is the former head of disgraced anglo-irish bank,David Drumm,who the Irish authorities have send an extradition request to the US (he tried to go through bankruptcy proceedings there but was caught in lies and illegally transferring money to his wife). Aaah.....
