A bit light-hearted but need to share our first two days. Please share your experiences!

Phones cut off because we hadn't paid the bill (Bill not been received!). Had to pay on my own credit card!
Put the heating on to air the school and the boiler not working.
3 children arrived - not expected
Home-school transport problems for 2 others - Taxi driver got lost and children were very late and quite upset.
Breakfast club leader resigned with no notice and therefore no food/milk for the children
Dinner lady - one of 2 is pregnant
Window cleaner cleaned the windows indoor and out - first time for 3 years (due to budget constraints) and we can now see outside!

    There are more but ....

No one would believe the events of my last week. Good to know I'm not the only one with sitcom style dramas.

It's not a normal job, is it?

If you wrote a book on it it wouldn't be believed! It's not a normal job but the time flies and you are never bored!

Being suspended under the guise of 'paid leave'.

I bet that stops the conversation.
    I can feel the silence!

So sorry, digorryvenn. Obviously you cannot tell us what and why. Just feel for you. And are you really working on your SEF if something like this has happened?

Not to replace union support, but plenty of support here from 'critical friends'. Don't go through this alone.

Jesmond12, I hope the departure of Rafa from your avatar is not a prediction of what will happen in the coming weeks and is merely retirement gloating!

Just mere gloating I'm afraid. Having a lovely time:cool:

    Thank you so much everyone.
I have great union support and support from another headteacher who has been a real friend to me.

I need all of your support please.
I can't give any details as I know that some of the teachers from my school post on here.

Went for a long walk today. It was lovely in the sunshine.

I love my job and I want it back!

Hope the retirement is going well Jesmond.
I have 18 years before I can retire!!

    @GLsghost I have a question please.

Can one of the headteacher standards be used as an allegation in a discipinarys: i.e. using a failure to meet one of the standards as an allegation.

    Thank you.

I have just looked at the standards for headteachers guidance and it says that they can't.
