AUTOBIOGRAPHY... are you brave enough to attempt to write yours?

George Orwell has written, “Autobiography is only to be trusted when it reveals something disgraceful. A man (or woman) who gives a good account of himself/herself is probably lying, since any life when viewed from the inside is simply a series of defeats.”

I have already written a memoir covering the period of my late teens up to my mid-twenties. Working title is How could I have been such a fool? and it gives, among other shocking accounts, details of my disastrous first marriage. However I have promised my wife (my present wife that is) that I will never publish it while she is alive.

How about you? Are you brave enough to write your autobiography?
