"The trust, and Nolan, had been praised by former education secretary Michael Gove and former prime minister David Cameron."

Being praised by Gove should be made an imprisonable offence.

These kind of people remind me of the bible bashing, family man in New Zealand, who many would have had you believe was a living saint. Well, that was until it was discovered that he was a serial child abuser.

Almost without exception, when you find someone in school management who is held up as a paragon of virtue, you will find they have a closet of very dirty laundry filled to bursting point.

Psalm 91:8-10 King James Version (KJV)
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

And how I enjoy beholding and seeing the reward of the wicked.:)

Schools Out, please refrain from posting revolting pictures. Some of us are eating our breakfast as we view this forum.

Will he have to give back the money (if we ever find out where it went)?

He will walk away unscathed. He will not be banned and no criminal charges will be laid against him as it appears he did not break the law.

Very very true. Do you remember that lying **** Jonathon Aitken who went live on the news about the sword of truth he was wielding against journalists who rightly accused him of something dodgy? https://www.theguardian.com/theguar...og/2011/jun/06/newspapers-national-newspapers
The bad guy doth protest too much!

What is Nexus? And how did it get £1.3 million of school money?

Nexus Schools provided services including accountancy support, payroll and HR support to the Perry Beeches trust.

Part of his defence was that he is an educationalist not an accountant.
I don't thin k you need to be an accountant to work out that a salary PLUS a hefty wedge of extra payment isn't really the norm.
