AST line managers

  1. I am in my 4th year at my current school since being employed as an 'inhouse' AST. Until recently, my line manager was the Deputy Head Teacher. I have just been informed that my line management will be changed to our newly appointed Head of Faculty. Is this OK? I have always been under the impression I should have a line manager of higher grade than myself? But not too sure of this point.
    Also, do to having 2 maternity leaves since arriving at the school, I have not had a comleted PM review. Objectives have been set and despite requesting a completion of PM, this has never been achieved. Where do I stand?
    Any advice greatfully received.
     
  2. You sound in a very similar situation to me.
    I would suggest you accept your new line manager. And ask to have your PM's bought up to date as soon as possible.
