Assistant Head - Teaching and Learning

  1. Yes that is exactly my job.
    Hard work. Lots of data and monitoring. Lesson observations. Organising ppm meetIngs and generally being deputy to ht.
    Rewarding tho

    Thanks for your reply.
    Do you look at things like the curriculum coverage/progression?
    Do you ensure Long Term plans/Medium Term etc are in place?
    I guess I do some of that already, as Num Coordinator I organise the PPM meetings and carry out lesson obs/monitoring, it would be more of this I suppose but for across the curriculum?
    Do you teach as well in your role?

  3. I do look at coverage and progression but more I oversee all the subject leaders, particularly the lit and numeracy coordinators. I have been literacy and numeracy coord prior to this post. I dont really look at long term planning, more day to day and weekly to ensure target children being catered for, differentiation clear etc
    I do teach too. A year 5 class
