Assessment of Primary PE

    Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on here before but I'm looking for some advice on how people assess attainment and progress in PE in primary schools. PE is a major part of our School Development Plan this year and my head teacher wants me to bring in a new assessment tool for all of the teachers to use.
Most people that I have spoken to have said that they don't do any assessment in PE though...

Any help or advice is much appreciated :)

    Thank you

P.E. passport - you need clerical help to ensure classes roll over but it literally gives you every learning objective, every lesson in detail, equipment lists and allows you to assess every child at the end of each unit as gold (above) silver (working at) or bronze (working below). There's an attendance list for every session so as a coordinator you can check up on persistant "no kit" excuses. I fill in my attendance while my class are getting changed.

Oh, and there's also a photo/video option for recording activities/attainment.

Thank you so much bevdex. I've just had a quick look on their site and it looks like the kind of thing we are looking for! Am I right in thinking that you use this at your school? If so- how long have you been using it for?

We've been using it for 18 months - hence the comment about having clerical help to ensure classes are who they say they are! Our P.E. coordinator introduced it and I quite like it!

Do all of the teachers at your school have a tablet/ ipad?

Not all, we have a shared ipad for uks2, another for lks2 and a third for ks1 - EYFS have their own dedicated ipads already - EYFS assessment generally needs visual evidence.
