Although I have read and understand the teacher assessment guidance for science, I am interested in how this is practically applied in different schools. At the moment, we use what the children have achieved in Year 6 and have science books which travel with them throughout KS2 to refer back to; however, the only 'judgement' made in Years 3-5 is that which is recorded on the children's end-of-year report. How does your school ensure you have a manageable but robust assessment procedure for science? Do you make an assessment judgement on each unit taught throughout KS2 and use this to build a general picture of children's understanding?
