  1. Hi everyone
We are due to be inspected in the autumn term and looking at the last inspection report the school was picked up on it's assemblies, we are time tabled to have two a week one is a celebation assembly linked to golden time. Can anyone suggest a fantastic assembly book with a songs CD. We do ok at the moment but the song side is poor and we always end up singing the same songs. Thank you lord for this new day.....Our God is a great big God......All suggestions greatly received.
    Thank you cazney
  2. I don't have an assembly book to suggest for you, but I can tell you what Ofsted thought about assemblies during our last inspection (July 2010).
They definitely like there to be a song, possibly music for coming into and leaving assembly. If they are only watching a couple of assemblies at most (inspections are much shorter now) then you can sing two of the songs that the children know well, and they won't necessarily know that they're the songs you always sing.
They also expect to see a time for reflection, whether that's a thinking time or a prayer, depending on what is appropriate in your school.
Also the internet can usually provide! Ihaven't used but have had recommended:
  3. Check out Out of the Ark Assemblies, there are several, the songs are great, come with a CD. Fool proof. You may even find your self humming some songs!

Our foundation stage don't attend school assemblies and it wasn't an issue with Ofsted
  5. We don't attend assemblies either but at the end of the day or the start we have a moment of reflection and we do a class prayer we are CofE
