Ask Theo: PhDs in Indy schools for NQTs?

Discussion in 'Independent' started by feejen, Mar 11, 2011.

  1. Just want your opinion on this one...
    I've applied for many Indy schools over the past year, getting 8 interviews, but alas no job yet. I'm wondering if it's;
    1) My lack of PhD, it seems some Indy schools rate this quite highly
    2) My degree, it's Engineering rather than Physics, but 1st class. (I'm applying for Physics jobs).
    3) Or maybe it's just me....?
    Should I give up on the Indy school route (I'm pre-NQT and doing supply at the moment), or is it a matter of finding the one who wants me?
    FWIW I can give 110% extra-curricular as I currently run martial arts clubs outside of school life.
