Art handbook

Discussion in 'Art and design' started by crimson, May 2, 2007.

  1. I'm presently on maternity leave but trying to get a head start on my new role as Art Co-ordinator in September. Could anyone give me some advice as to how to structure a handbook.

My ideas include ( but it seems a bit thin):-
Schemes of Work (Including Teaching & Learning focus; eg Multiple Intelligences and VAK T & L
    Assessment Policy
    Additional Needs (SEN)Policy

Has anyone with recent OFSTED experience got any additional ideas? Would really appreciate any comments.

  7. You can but off the peg handbooks for art from SSER and then alter them to suit your environment. I did this and it worked very well in a recent Ofstead.

  13. Hi little savage,

You seem to be the popular one at the moment. We are moving to a new building and I have just taken over the department. The hand book we have is very out of date- is it possible for you to e-mail me a copy as well?

Also has anyone started to relate specific skills to the National Curriculum levels?

I am just getting started and will be happy to send any work in progress for editing or workshoping? Also very happy to split the load if anyone wants to.

  14. With the prospect of non-specialists teaching Art at my school now on the horizon, maybe I had better get something more formal in place. I would really apprecriate looking at your handbook it sounds incredibly thorough! Thanks beth@be-original.co.uk

  15. Hi little savage, you are really going to be sick of hearing this but may i have a copy also, thank you.

I bet you wish you never mentioned it now. I am not sure whether there is anything i can offer in return, if so just ask me and i would be happy to see if i am able. Maybe a SOW
