Discussion in 'Art and design' started by Eliz83, Oct 5, 2011.

  1. Hi, I am in the same position as you - 2nd year and new art co-ordinator!

I am also looking for some advice. I'm looking to apply to enter the school for the Artsmark award so you could always look into that? Also going to try and organise maybe an art-themed week at some point this year?

Let me know if you have any ideas too and we can maybe advise each other?!
  2. The Big draw, which is this month you should definitely be doing something for that! local galleries will probably have something going on, or just get pupils working collaboratively on some big drawing projects!!! get pupils talking about contemporary art don't know where you are but the turner prize is happening in november!!! and the Baltic website have some great primary resources around contemporary arts!! best of luck (one of the best things is to get in contact with other art specialists from primary and secondary, look around in your area for projects and meeting in the north east we have North East art teachers and educator network) which meets up regular to discuss current issues and gives great advice and opportunities!!
