Art and Design Level 3 BTEC Diploma

  1. Hi Lucy

We offer it to 6th form and have been doing so for a few years. I have quite a large cohort this year which is a good thing. A couple of kids have dropped out for one reason or another but it is a good group. They have 9 hours per fortnight. 5 lessons on week 2 on a Wednesday and 4 hours on week 1 on a Wednesday. I'm struggling to get the kids to keep to deadlines at the moment and am going to have to crack down hard on them. A few phone calls home are in order I think. We run 2 assignments in year 12 and 2 assignments in year 13. The 2 assignments in year 12 teach them the skills they need in preparation for year 13. The final 2 assignments are much more independent based and kids get to choose their specialism to follow.

Any questions you have, I will be happy to answer.

  2. Hi Maxine,

I wonder if you can help me. I am a new QN at my school and have just been informed that we are going to offer Art & Design (Textiles) from September. I was wondering if you have any assignment briefs that you would be willing to share so that I can forward them to the new program manager and she can hopefully use/amend to fit in which the textiles aspect. Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Sally-Anne
