These twenty-nine tonnes of carrots have a name, apparently.
    "Grounding".
    It was "installed" by lorry.

"Very bizarre", said a musical theatre student.

You can enjoy some of the carrot-dumper's other "art" here:

I am both triggered and outraged. How can this waste of food be justified when half the world is starving.

Perhaps I can have my compost heap and wood chippings heap displayed at an art gallery........living art as there are plenty of beasties living in them. I wonder what I could get, money wise, for them.

Then there’s my unmade bed, available most mornings.

Unless you give it an edgy name then it won’t get a look in, unfortunately.

Call it something like ‘Post-enlightenment returns to nature’ and you’ll be quids in.

I remember seeing a display of empty paper lunch bags arranged in neat rows at the Tate many, many years ago.

Worth a fortune and apparently not the recycling it appeared to be!

For that to work effectively, the artist must possess an interesting Eastern European name. A guaranteed passport to an arts council grant or post graduate place on a course...no interview necessary.

5BC4D7A8-266C-4793-AA81-7BC24967F183.jpeg That is clearly NOT the original work, it’s a fake.

There are parsnips in amongst the carrots.

Orchidometer. Lekka & Perikleous, Athens. 2017.
    Curated by Maria Georgoula.
Carved wood, leather string, plastic sack.
    260 x 40 cm

The artist has hyperbolically extended the number and sizes in the beads of an orchidometer. Instrument used to measure children’s testicles for categorical purposes such as differentiating gender, and viewing a “correct development”. The members of the public are invited to measure their testicles in relation to the orchidometer.

    !

I think I prefer the carrots.

SOME OF MY THOUGHTS ON 'GROUNDING':

A SCULPTURAL WORK THAT AIMS AT A VOID THAT SIGNIFIES PRECISELY THE NON-BEING OF WHAT IT REPRESENT.

THE SUGGESTION OF PERFORMANCE PSYCHOLOGICALLY INVOLVES THE VIEWER WITH THE MAKING PROCESS, PROVOKING INSTINCTIVE RESPONSES TO THIS PRECARIOUS ASSEMBLAGE.

TO ME THIS WORK CENTERS ON AN INTEREST IN THE UNIVERSALITY OF OUR BIOLOGICAL MAKE-UP AND LANDSCAPE; COMBINED WITH THE COLLECTIVE SENSE OF THE SUBLIME.

THIS ASSEMBLAGE EXAMINES HESITATION AS PART OF THE PROCESS OF DECISION-MAKING, WHERE THE OBJECT IS NEITHER THE OBJECT OF OBJECTHOOD NOR THE ART-OBJECT. IT IS RATHER THE OBLIQUE OBJECT OF THE ARTIST’S INTENTIONS.

I think I may have eaten one of the artist's minor works yesterday - does that make me an installation?

Its all about context and concept.
My friend actually made a living art piece with slugs and snails who were slowly digesting the dampened complete works of Shakespeare.

And the artist will need a good agent and a track record of reviews written by an expert in installation art. Arranged by the agent of course.
