Are Year 6 just being tested on the statutory spelling word list?

I have been teaching my year 5 children the rules for their year group and going back as much as possible to targets from previous years but I am still somewhat confused about where the spellings for the SATS will actually come from. Will they just be from the statutory lists (3/4 and 5/6) or can they also be words that are generated from the rules that they have to be taught? I think from what I have read it could be both but I am not 100% sure. It is probably a silly question but after hours of research on the internet this morning and a trawl through the TES I still can't find a definitive answer.

The spelling rules are tested in the SPAG test.
The statutory spellings are teacher assessed through classwork on spelling and independent writing.
    Well that's my understanding anyway.
