With current Yr 9 we are starting the reformed AQA GCSE spec.
We are looking that the assessment regime for new AQA Combined Science(trilogy); 6 x 1hr10 exams, and comparing to the feasibility of entering lower ability students for two of the three separates at foundation tier; 4 x 1hr45 exam.
Moral dilemma of only teaching two of the three disciplines aside; has anyone else considered this as an option?
Alternatively; as a center who currently do OCR Gateway; Does the AQA Combined Science Big Ideas (synergy) stack up more favorably?

From my understanding, entering students for 2/3 sciences would mean that their results would not count as part of the progress 8 / attainment 8 scores which require either Double Science or results from all three Sciences separately
