AQA or Edexcel A-Level Product Design?

Discussion in 'Design and technology' started by Will2K, Apr 22, 2011.

  1. I am looking to launch A-Level Product Design at a new school. I have
only taught Edexcel Product Design with Graphic Products specifications
about 3 years ago (course no longer running because of low number of
intake - SLT!!!) and both AQA and Edexcel having updated the specs
since. A somewhat daft question but I was wondering which is the better
awarding body to go with (especially in ters of resources and support as
I found that Edexcel wasn't so great in the past)? All views welcome.
    Thanks for helping.

  2. I have taught both AQA and Edexcel specifications and I find Edexcel to be far better. I agree that the AQA website is full of much more material to help you but I find the Edexcel specification much easier and beter to prepare for and to mark. I also just use all the AQA resources for teaching the Edexcel specification - obviously being careful that it applies!

  3. Thank you both for your suggestions. I will be leaning towards Edexcel then. :)
