AQA English Literature discrepancy?

    According the Jan 2012 grade boundaries, to get a C for Unit 1 for example,
    you need 35/54 if you sit Foundation whereas if you sit Higher, you only need
    16/54. This seems like a huge discrepancy.


    So for example, if I were to add the three unit marks together to get a C, a
    students would need 87 overall if they are entered for Foundation but only 53
    if they're entered for Higher. Is this correct or am completely mistaken?


    Wouldn't it be better to enter all the students for Higher for each unit
    considering the questions aren't that much different really?

    Both of these scores would get you the <u>same UMS - 48 -</u> so it won't make any difference whether they get 35 on Higher or 16 on Foundation.
    No, because if you enter them for Higher and they get below 11 marks they will get a U!
