AQA English Language in one year

There is a suggestion (or maybe more than a suggestion) that our 2016/17 year 10s will be doing their Language exam in one year at the end of year 10 then Literature in year 11.

Knowing how hard the teaching and outcomes have been from this year, I'm feeling apprehensive.
I also think that previous specs have had courses specifically for teaching in a year but as far as I know the new spec is designed to be taught over two years.

Does anyone have any pointers? I can image quite a few pitfalls.

The exam boards have outlines for the courses being taught in a year (last time I looked).

Not sure it will count for Progress8 unless taken in the same sitting. I m a m sure if it would our SMT would want to us to do it and it hasn't been mentioned.
