AQA English CA - grade equivalents for marks?

Discussion in 'English' started by claireym, Apr 23, 2012.

  1. Our managers have calculated that a 9 in CA is necessary for a C. I know that the board are not publishing equivalent grades for marks but is this realistic? We're under pressure to get everyone to this level and honestly, it's very hard to do! We were working more on the basis of 7-8.

There are overall Unit 3 boundaries on AQA website. We are saying a 9 is a C to be safe.

Google AQA grade boundaries and you'll get all the information for past exams. It's a whole folder, not just one essay, that they work them out on so you'll need all the marked pieces to guesstimate where the student is at. The boundaries will probably change by a couple of marks until the new spec is firmly established (if A Level is anything to go by).
