    Evening ladies and gents,

Am looking to start this ASAP. Has anybody else found good examples of 'rolling slideshows'?

Also what are people planning to use to create the webpage? I am considering www.wix.com I have asked AQA for further advice about acceptable software and they were SUPER vague. They merely stated some schools were using Publisher and some Dreamweaver.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

  3. Hi socialisthero, I have just embarked upon this piece of controlled assessment and already im sick of it. i have spoke to AQA about the website and they said it would be simpler to stick with publisher. So i'm going to do that - im also going to use publisher to create my data capture form as it is just a case of pupils inserting the information and then editing to 'look good.'

I was wondering if you managed to find any good examples of rolling slideshows? Its proving to be very hard to find some of the information to show pupils before they start producing their own.

    Thanks
    Carly

  4. Even I confront with the same problem. As the AQA said, formalities do not seem to be simpler like using publisher. I would be grateful if I get somebody to suggest something about getting an e-AQA account and access to Secure Key Materials.

  5. Your exam officer in school can set you up.

  6. I use the following definition with my pupils: A rolling slide show does not have a title page or Thank You page at the end as the audience can walk into the presentation at any time, e.g. slide 4.

I am using publisher for website as well (as suggested by AQA).

  7. I like that definition Harry - simple 'pupil language' I'll be using this when designing the slideshow

  8. Dear All

Quick question. I started the Hotel Controlled Assessment for both Yr10 and Yr 11 after talking to AQA in summer. Received an email today that the Hotel Assessment is no longer allowed for Year 10 as they issue new material on January 31st. Has anybody else started or planned to use it with Year 10.

    Completely messed up my planning.......

  9. What are people doing for the examples of a speaking slide show? are you using the ones you would for teaching and giving them to the kids? i have got them to look at specific websites with the topic they have chosen for the rolling ones.
also, looking at the examples in the eaqa, there is no where that shows the research.
mine are getting examples of 3 of 4 things of the website, slideshow and data capture form.
i have made them a booklet. is this ok?
i am rather confused with it all really.

    help please :)

For the rolling slide show I took the kids into town, They had to find examples of rolling slideshows. I gave them a template and they completed it. It had headings along the lines of 'what I liked about / what I didn't like". other headings could be what worked what didn't. You'd be surprised how many slideshows there are in town. We started at the library (where the slide show had way too much info, when too fast and the writing was too small) We looked at the library one together then they went off and found their own.

  11. Hi all is anyone doing the planning 4 hours. I am confused as there does not seem to be any information on how the students are suppose to plan for the museum or exhibition. We have rollingslides at our school, so the students were shown them and I am getting the person who deals with them to explain to the students and using the internet.
