As we reach the end of round 1 of the recruiting bout - how are the candidates shaping up? I certainly had a couple of challenging interviews; one was for a science teacher who had no idea of the actual difference between IB and AS/A2 in terms of content and method and looked at me in horror when I politely asked him to explain the difference. It all went downhill from there. An interview place wasted? Perhaps, but hopefully a lesson learnt - do your research before you sit down to talk about what a wonderful teacher you are. And learn how to spell.

Sorry, that sounds a bit harsh, but it did annoy me. I should have filed it under 'B' in the first place and not given rise to false hope.
