Applications after illness

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by boro82, Jun 23, 2011.

  1. Hi, I resigned from my post in march due to ongoing depression. I feel ready to start applying for jobs for September now. Any advice about how I can manage my I'll health in the application process?
  2. I have been in your same position in terms of illness then having to apply for jobs. I had one interview this year and I hadn't been in a classroom since 2009!!! I searched for advice on this forum. There are comments made by Theo where he has worded long-term absences in a positive light. Just search the jobseekers forum.

Glad to hear that things are better for you now.
Since your illness was stress-related, then you can say that having come
successfully through this, you are now better able to cope with stress
in everyday life. Emphasise how you have got a good work-life balance, that the problem is over and done with and you have come out stronger at the end of it.
Go to the shortlisting clickables in the Welcome thread for more general advice on applications.
Best wishes for a successful return to the best job in the world!
