I am applying for a new post and I just finished my NQT last year (so contract finished 31/08/2017). I have since doing some supply and private tutoring.

What should I put as my current/last employer? The NQT school or Supply and tutoring?

I left because the school I was at was very challenging (they wanted to keep me) - what should I write as reason for leaving?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Your last employer will be the post you left. The agency/school who employ you now are the current employer.
The standard "looking for wider opportunities and experience" or something similar is a good fall back for reasons to leave.

I would personally put your Current employer down for the 'Current Employer' Box - the Supply Agency as your referee. You can still put your last employer though if you choose to for the second referee and if 'Last Employer' is separate .

If there is a choice divided by a / - I would go for the Current one.Reason for leaving might be - looking for permanent post and to gain more experience.

    Good luck OP

I would only ever expect to see the 'reason for leaving' section completed with a factual statement explaining why the employment ceased. Replies should be 'Resignation', 'Expiration of fixed tern contract', (or, hopefully not) 'Dismissal' etc.

The rest is a discussion to be had at interview.
