Application error....computer says no

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by Noogsmagpie, Jun 19, 2012.

  1. Hello,

I started an online teaching application this weekend and spent 4 hours filling in the boxes, then saved it. Last night I logged back in to complete the form and found a message on the website saying there are currently no vacancies and my saved form deleted from the site. The deadline for the post is this Wednesday.

I called HR to check I wasn't going mad, that there is a vacancy and I did in fact start and save the form. They said there was a server error and that the only thing they could do was to send out the application forms to me via email and that I would have to restart the whole process.

I have until 12 tomorrow to complete all the forms to meet the deadline and just needed to vent my utter frustration with the application process.

Yadda yadda...... why oh why....... complete waste of........

    Noog

Oh, horribly, awfully, terribly FRUSTRATING for you!
But it sounds like the beginning of a good story:
I started an online teaching application this weekend and spent 4 hours filling in the boxes, then saved it. The next day I logged back in to complete the form and found a message on the website saying there were currently no vacancies and my saved form was: DELETED from the site!!!!!
The deadline for the post was in just one day.
    One day!!!!!!

I called HR to check I wasn't going mad, that there was a vacancy and I did in fact start and save the form. They said there was a server error and that the only thing they could do was to send out the application forms to me via email and that I would have to restart the whole process.

I had until 12 the next day to complete all the forms to meet the deadline, so I nearly didn't bother.

But, Boy! Am I glad that I did! That I stayed up all night doing it!
    Because - guess what folks?

Could you have backed up the form on your own computer? (easy said in hindsight I know!)

Mostly not possible with the on-line applications, I believe.

No, but what you might be able to try is copying the info and pasting it into a Word doc on your computer? Not ICT specialist but it might be worth trying?
