App creation software?

Discussion in 'Computing and ICT' started by orse, Dec 15, 2011.

  1. Good morning!

Thinking of giving pupils the chance to create apps to be used on phones, anyone done this?

We use Scratch at the moment for pupils to produce little games.

Thinking more of creating little games/apps that could be uploaded as apps on phones

    Anybody with experience of this?

Part of the problem is you have three targets ; J2ME, iPhone and Android. There are attempts at j2me conversions for Android ; iPhone will not allow it for obvious reasons.

App Inventor is being retired I believe and being sent to MIT to be rebuilt on their website.

We use Adobe Flash Builder to write apps.

I've just come across gamesalad. http://gamesalad.com/
    Requires zero coding, apparently.
    There's a free option.
