Anything exciting, this week?

I'm bored. I need some excitement. The grey skies are affecting my mood.
I got all excited about writing a book, then I decided that I'd start with a short story, instead, and now I can't even be bothered to do that. I bought the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook 2016 which is a treasure trove of all things to do with writing, and discovered the 7 golden rules of creating a plot. Common sense, really.
Anyway, I read this morning that there's very little money to be made from being a published author - about 24p per book - unless you're one of the really famous ones. So, I should just write for pleasure. Except, I can't get motivated.

Are you doing anything exciting, this week?

Well, I'm pretty excited. Took a painting through to London for submission to a big exhibition, and today I found I'd been selected. Glad it wasn't a wasted journey - although the trip was fun in its own right (so it wouldn't have been wasted in that sense.)

My new kitchen is going in as I write. Third week.

Weeks 1 and 2. Knock down walls etc.

Week 2. Rip out old kitchen.

Week 3. Put in new kitchen.

I may soon be able to free up my living room for.....living. Rather than a microwave, cutlery, crockery, dog bowls etc.

I've started househunting properly today. I didn't know how much I've got to spend until yesterday. I'm quite excited :)

Nope. Sheer boredom as far as the eye can see. Spent today (my "day off") running errands for other people and cleaning the house. Usually this puts me in the mood for doing something reckless but I can't even be ars-ed for that.
Wish the ground would dry out so I could get out in the garden.

No, too cold for much rather than a walk to get out of the house now and again. Early meeting tomorrow, so car windscreen scraping for me.

I've to take Mother-in-law to the doctors for 10am and so I've just covered the car to avoid having to scrape it in the morning.
