Oh My GOD!!!!! Bravery of the highest order!
Sorry to say, i've no experience of control studio, but if you're new to electronics I can suggest some good reading....
The first book i'd go for is Collins CDT "Technology" - ISBN 0-00-327434-9
This is quite old (first published in 1988) and a little wordy but explains most elements of simple electronics brilliantly to anyone with an adult reading age. It gives circuit examples and examples of which components to use in different situations (something that usually comes with experience)
Secondly, TEP "Technology In Practice" - ISBN 0-7195-7179-0
This has a great section on electronics and also covers control. Its more colourful too :)
Sorry I couldn't be more help. But I admire your bravery!
Please get in touch if you have any specific problems with circuits e.t.c. in the future.
