Anyone unprotect a Word 2010 document for me?

I'm trying to fill in an application form but when I go onto the next line it splits the table across pages, I can't put lines between jobs in my employment history because it leaves a horrible grey mark etc etc
The document is protected with a password and I have emailled the county who said, "Yes, we know it doesn't look good but the employers know that that happens!"
If I can't get it unprotected I'll have to handwrite it as I'm an ICT specialist and can't hand it a badly formatted form. That's surely one way not to get an interview!

  3. Have you tried changing the page settings? Sometimes if you alter the top and bottom margins you can squeeze in a bit more text. Another way around it might be to save it as a PDF which the new version can do and then open and complete it using Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks tdillon, it wont let me adjust margins at all massively locked down. You can literally type in the boxes they allow you to and nothing else, can't change font, size, margins, table nothing! I don't have a pdf editor just a reader.

  5. Anything Office 2007 & above is brute force as far as I remember, so unless it's under 6 letters or the name of the company you'll be waiting there a while to get it unprotected...

Tried the obvious things.....so looks like they'll get to see my *cough* lovely handwriting *cough*

  7. I've got word password recovery software but it's brute force, happy to give it a go if you want...

  8. Can you export it to a format that doesn't support formatting? RTF? Word v2? Into LibreOffice and save to .sxw?

jweb2k could you inbox me your email address please and I'll send you the document?
Thanks trying that would be great!

  10. So you couldn't be bothered to look then ? The first search entry I got was an instructable which costed £0.
If you read my posts when I'm actually asked questions I'll answer them. I don't mind answering "trivial" questions from people who aren't into Computing/ICT. But you should have made the effort to look first.

Will Open Office strip the password?
