I am currently teaching overseas and have been away from Scotland for 2 years. I am having to return in the summer as my current school has decided to withdraw places for an pupils with SEN needs - my daughter has ASD and Dyslexia. Rather than return to Moray we are thinking of settling in Dumfries and Galloway for various reasons but I have no idea what the job situation or the supply situation is in this area. Does anyone have any info ?

I have kept my GTC registration updated and will only need to update my PVG but cannot apply for jobs until August as we will return after the scottish schools are closed for the holidays. I know in Moray there is still a need for English and Supply teachers.

Thanks - was going to post in the Scotland forum but didn't know where to put it on as there are only a few. I have been checking the council website but so far there hasn't been many advertised :(

Hi! Lots of opportunities for teachers in the west of the region...Stranraer especially crying out for primary specialists.

Thanks but I am a Secondary English Teacher - I saw all of the adverts for Primary. Would love to work in Stranraer- I am hoping that some Secondary jobs are advertised soon.

No but the location is where I would like to be. Rentals are affordable and the college seems to be perfect for my daughter. The only University that runs the course she wants to do is in Glasgow and as she has ASD it would help being within easy travelling distance.
