Anyone starting their PGCE at MMU in September looking for a house/flatshare

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by Natalie88, Mar 22, 2011.

  1. Hey,
I just wondered if anyone was starting their PGCE at Manchester Met in September and was looking for accomodation or someone to share with. I'm moving from Bristol and don't know anyone in Manchester so ideally i would like a sociable house/flat share.
I am very tidy, easy going, enjoy going to the cinema, fashion, swimming, keeping fit, cooking and wine.
I'm doing my PGCE in Design & Technology: Food and Textiles.
It would be great to hear from you if your interested!
    Thanks

  2. Hey,
Sorry I cant help with the flatshare at the moment but I have just applied to do the same course as Manchester Met after my first choice fell through with the cut in places. Was wondering when your interview was and if you have any idea if they still had places left? as havent heard anything yet.
Well done for getting on the course I hope you find somewhere to live soon.

  3. Hi Natalie,
Can't help directly with the flatshare but I live in
Didsbury now (and starting primary pgce in sept) and might know some
    people who can!
I know someone in Didsbury moving out of their
flatshare who lives with lovely girls/women (age 28ish) if you want to
message me and I could pass your details on? I also know someone who
lives in Victoria Park (closer to the main MMU and Man Uni area/city
centre) who was looking a few weeks ago to rent out a room, but this
would be a bus or a slightly hairy bike ride away.
    I'd also say
that I know lots of people who've had great experiences just finding
flatshares in this area through rightmove or gumtree, so don't be scared
    to try that route!
    Good luck!

    Hi Natalie,

Just wondering how you were getting on with the flat hunting? I too am starting PGCE business studies with ICT at MMU in sept and am moving over from Northern Ireland.

    Regards,
    Liam
