Any ideas for swordfish?

My "fishman" has sold me a pack of swordfish steaks.
Having never cooked such food before, I could go with the methods I use for cod, salmon, or sea bass etc. but does anyone have any recommendations, please?

Cook it as you would a tuna steak, but don't leave it rare (ie hot pan/griddle).
Even better if you have had the time to marinate it for a while in lemon juice and garlic (with a bit of oil to emulsify the marinade)
We often cut it into chunks to make kebabs to bbq in summer.

Thanks, I'll try that - with marinade, I think.

Let us know how it goes - I have never cooked swordfish myself, either, so would be interested to hear how it goes [IMG]

If you like chilli, add a few flakes!

I can add them to the one. My wife's not a chilli fan, though, except for a fairly mild con carne. I've never thought of fish and chilli combined.

Tonight's the night - for swordfish delight!
I'll give you foodback later on how we found it.

    How was it?

Yes - it was good. I did marinate. Added the marinade juice to some stir fry veg as accompaniment - plus some spicy tomato sauce on the side. Didn't use chilli but did put some chopped ginger with the fish to give it a bit of "zing".
    I'd do that again.
It really is a "meaty" sort of fish, isn't it? Different from what we usually have.
What would you serve it with?

  11. I would tend to go for stir fry veg, as you did - or lightly steamed veg. Or maybe depending on the spices used in the fish, some coconut basmati rice.
Glad it worked out well - makes me more optimistic of trying myself [IMG]
