Another foray into the kitchen cupboard...

    ...enough rice, sweetcorn, red kidney beans and Maldon sea salt to last me for the next zillion years! I bought more sweetcorn and red kidney beans last week.

    That was just one shelf. More to follow!

    I know some are predicting food shortages post Brexit....

    There's a can of soup in our kitchen cupboard that's 5 years out of date.

    I could take it on "Antiques Roadshow".

    Baking things in a salt crust seems quite trendy and unnecessarily cheffey. Salt baked veggie burgers will get rid of lots of it, the more so if they turn out to be awful.

    We have miso paste... I bought it... I dunno why.

    It seems to last forever...

    The birds will eat all sorts of stuff, seems they have an agreement and have to get through it all between them so more gets put out. Earlier this year I cooked great vats of old porridge with water and anything else we didn't want chucked in (fat from cooking is always popular), it all went.

    It sounds as if you will be eating slightly dull vegan food for the next few weeks, @Marshall - but you can make it very salty... yummy!

    My freezer is groaning with stuff. I probably have enough food there and in tins to last at least two months.

    Me too. Trying to make space in the freezer for Chrstmas goodies, but I'm always tempted by a bargain when I'm out, so the space is instantly filled up again!
