Another Excel question for any Excel gurus

  1. Can anyone, in simple terms, explain S Verweise and W Verweise to me?
    Google tells me you call them V lookup and H lookup? But I don't understand the rest.
    Obviously I want to know because I want to search for a value in one column and return a value from another column (in the row) from another table.
    Tis doing my head in!

  3. With an example

    You have a table in A1:E20

    A has names in it, C has age in it

    Then in column P you have names that you want to look up the ages for and put it in Q


    The table can be in a different sheet or even workbook
