Another 20000 dead by Christmas

bojo gave a speech yesterday which I feel was a watershed.

He no longer is being led by the science. The absence of the scientists was significant.

bojo passed the buck to local authorities and devolved governments. He seems to have accepted 150 deaths per day which means another 20000 deaths by Christmas. His suggestion that life will be normal by Christmas seems ridiculous. But it will not be his fault.

Why is bojo not seeking to reduce the infections to zero? The ons show that England has settled into 100 - 150 deaths per day and this is not reducing and neither is the number of new infections.

    Masterful politics.

They only want to avoid any responsibility and be able to blame others.

They don't really know what else to do. The strategy has been wrong from the start.

.....and this is really only the beginning.

    ....and Johnson looked awful.

The most irresponsible government we've ever had.

By the end of the year we could be in a desperate place.

Hope Johnson's not relying on a second Trump victory - that's looking most unlikely at the moment.

They came out of lockdown before cases were low enough to do so.

They did what many other countries were doing in easing measures but with no justification for doing so.

And again, this was so obvious, even at the time.

And we are where we are.

All they have left, is managing the message, gaslighting us, and shifting the blame. And they'll do all three in spades.

That speech yesterday was basically a wish list completely ignoring the virus.

Haven't the devolved governments done rather better than Bojo's?

The real people with the power, the ones sometimes referred to as "men in grey suits", who have the control over the Tories must be getting desperate. They spent a load of money conning the public to vote Boris in only for Covid to pop up (natural justice?) and show how badly a bunch of yes men cope when they actually need to do something other than give dodgy interviews and prop up the House of Commons bar. They want a return on their investment, so work slaves have to work for them, and a few (hundred thousand) deaths don't matter to them.

I must agree that bojo looked like he has just came off a ventilator.

Yes. Much better. The pressure is building in Scotland for Sturgeon to quarantine the English.

There is no doubt that there are many more losses and deaths ahead of us than behind us, even without a second spike. Add a second winter spike into that and we have 10x more deaths and funenerals to look forward to. This pandemic has hardly started.

I note you're not answering the question.

Name the people who conned the public.

Unless there is a vaccine, I think the best we can hope for is that deaths continue at about the present level over the summer followed by a big increase as we go into winter.

No I don't. And I have no intention to.

I will always think for myself and ask for evidence before I believe anything.

That shouldn't have been inside Ivar's quote - Ivar would never had said this.
