Animated stories for the whiteboard?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by hare34, Apr 17, 2012.

  1. Hi!
I am looking for a website where I can view animated stories (in particular those about Anansi). I'm currently teaching the topic stories from other cultures in Literacy and have a variey of Anansi books, but would like another visual for the children.
I came across one last year which had lots of different types of stories (all animated) and several were based on Anansi but cannot for the life of me remember which one it was argh! I think it was called story chest or something like that!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you :)

  2. http://www.storycove.com/ have some Anansi stories.
www.signedstories.com have some amazing animated stories, great resource - but no Anansi, I'm afraid.

  3. Ive used Youtube for anansi stories?

  4. Have you seen Tinga Tinga tales? They are African stories from Cbeebies and are lovely. Check it out on the bbc website - stories such as how did elephant get his trunk, how did monkey get his tail etc.

  5. Thanks very much everyone for the replies.... some great sites!

   )

  7. There are resources on here - on tes iboard for anansi stories. Can't remember if there's animated stories, but there are some great resources that I didn't find until AFTER I'd planned and taught the unit!

  8. You can download Realplayer and use that to copy youtube videos onto a memory stick for use in class - I had to do this on my last placement
