Interesting that 100 years ago Einstein became "instantly world famous" when his theory of general relativity was shown to be correct.

I cannot imagine that nowadays anyone could become world famous just for coming up with a brilliant scientific theory. Now you'd have to do something really worthwhile like have a big bum. What has happened to the general intelligence of the human race in the last 100 years?
