Alain de Botton's 'Status Anxiety'

    Hi. Am reading this (or supposed to be) for book group, but I strongly suspect it's going to be a tough slog. I already feel so put off by the first few pages, which is probably very unfair of me. Anyone read it who can offer some encouragement?!

    I think the book accompanies the tv series. Visually ... as television it worked quite well.

    I haven't read this one, but I really loved his book "The Art of Travel". I haven't read anything else by him though, so I'd be interested to hear how you end up getting on with the one you're reading and what the rest of your book group think of it.
