Agency as referee to move agencies? Advice please

    Hi all,

I've been with the same agency for over ten years (I'm also part self employed).
Over the past couple of years, work has really dried up- I only get work from a few schools who request me by name.
So, I'm being forced to join a couple of other agencies but I'm wondering- do I have to put my current agency down as referee? If I do, could they react badly to this and stop giving me work altogether? (of course this could helping along a situation which would eventually happen anyway the way things are going).

    many thanks, SJ

My advice is don't put down the agency as a ref...ask the headteachers at the schools that request for you by name.
